mint-julep

A Seven Jars Special Recipe

Frank and Velma both loved horse racing and any list of “Classic” cocktails in their book would not be complete without this thoroughbred! There are several secrets to the classic Mint Julep that you need to know: First, muddle the mint gently, don’t rip it to shreds. Second, cracked (or even shaved) ice is a must – cubes are a no-no. Finally, if you use sugar cubes, be sure to take the time to meld them thoroughly with the mint before adding the bourbon – you want the sugar fully dissolved!
